WhatsApp has recently introduced several new features and improvements. The iOS app now includes a global voice note player, enabling users to listen to voice notes in the background. This feature is now expanding to the desktop app. According to WABetainfo, the global audio player is available for some WhatsApp Desktop users. Screenshots from WABetainfo show that similar to the mobile version, the playback of voice notes continues even when switching chats.
